1. Who we are
Spreadist is a people-powered distribution platform that connects businesses with creators. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and to the Spreadist platform.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Spreadist, we collect:
- Account details: your name, email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider), and whether you joined as a business or a creator.
- Business details: business name, description, website, logo and brand material you upload, and the campaigns you create.
- Creator details: your profile, bio, location, niche, social profile links, audience information you share, and the work and proof you submit.
- Payment and payout details: payment references for campaign payments and the payout details creators provide so we can pay rewards. We do not store full card numbers.
- Messages and support: messages you send to other users or to our team, and notifications we send you.
- Usage and device data: pages visited, approximate location (such as country, used to show local pricing), browser and device type, and basic logs for security and troubleshooting.
3. How we use your information
- to create and run your account and provide the platform
- to review, price and run campaigns, match creators to campaigns and verify submitted work
- to take payments, pay rewards and keep financial records
- to send notifications and messages about your account and campaigns
- to provide support, investigate abuse and keep the platform secure
- to show prices in the right currency and improve how the platform works
- to meet legal obligations
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing the platform, your consent where we ask for it, and legal obligations.
4. What other users can see
Businesses can see the profile details of creators who apply to or work on their campaigns, such as name, bio, niche, audience information and submitted work. Creators can see campaign details and the business or brand name behind a campaign. Messages are visible to the people in the conversation and to our team. We do not show your email address to other users.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- service providers that help us run Spreadist, including our database and authentication, hosting and storage, and payment and email providers, who may only use it to provide their service to us
- other users, as described above
- authorities or professional advisers when the law requires it or to protect rights, safety and property
- a successor business if Spreadist is ever merged or sold, with the same protections for your information
6. International transfers
Spreadist serves users in several countries and our providers may process data outside your own, including outside Nigeria. When we transfer information we take steps to make sure it stays protected in line with this policy and applicable law.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and meet legal, tax and accounting duties. Financial and payout records are kept for the period the law requires. When information is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar storage that are necessary to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use them to sell advertising. If we add analytics or marketing tools later, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.
9. Security
We protect information with access controls, encrypted connections and role-based permissions so that people only see the data they need. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorised access.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the Nigeria Data Protection Act and the UK GDPR, you may have the right to access your information, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict certain uses, withdraw consent, and receive a copy of your data. You can update most details in your account settings. For anything else, contact us using the details below. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Children
Spreadist is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, tell us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make an important change we will notify you in the platform or by email, and the date at the top will change.
